Reading 1, Jeremiah 7:23-28

23 My one command [kəˋmænd] to them was this: Listen to my voice, then I will be your God and you shall be my people. In everything, follow the way that I mark out for you, and you shall prosper [ˋprɑspɚ]繁榮.

24 But they did not listen, they did not pay attention; they followed their own devices [dɪˋvaɪs]設備、手段、計畫, their own stubborn [ˋstʌbɚn]倔強的、頑強的 and wicked inclinations [͵ɪnkləˋneʃən] 傾向、, and got worse rather than better.

25 From the day your ancestors left Egypt until today, I have sent you all my servants the prophets, persistently [pɚˋsɪstəntlɪ]堅持不放棄地;持續不斷地;頻繁地 sending them day after day.

26 But they have not listened to me, have not paid attention; they have deliberately [dɪˋlɪbərɪtlɪ] 慎重地;故意地,從容不迫地resisted[rɪˋzɪst] 抵抗,反抗;忍耐, behaving worse than their ancestors.

27 So you will tell them all this, but they will not listen to you; you will call them, but they will not answer you."

28 Then you are to say to them, "This is the nation that will neither listen to the voice of Yahweh its God nor take correction [kəˋrɛkʃən]訂正,懲治. Sincerity[sɪnˋsɛrətɪ] 真實;誠心誠意;純真is no more, it has vanished[ˈvænɪʃt]消亡的from their mouths.
Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 95:1-2, 6-7, 8-9
1 Come, let us cry out with joy to Yahweh, acclaim the rock of our salvation.

2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving, acclaim him with music.

3 For Yahweh is a great God, a king greater than all the gods.

4大地的深淵,全在他手,高山的頂峰,為他所有。4 In his power are the depths of the earth, the peaks of the mountains are his;

5 the sea belongs to him, for he made it, and the dry land, moulded by his hands.

6 Come, let us bow low and do reverence[ˋrɛvərəns] 敬愛,崇敬;敬畏; kneel before Yahweh who made us!

7 For he is our God, and we the people of his sheepfold, the flock of his hand. If only you would listen to him today!

8 Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah, as at the time of Massah in the desert,

9 when your ancestors challenged me, put me to the test, and saw what I could do!

10 For forty years that generation sickened me, and I said, 'Always fickle hearts; they cannot grasp my ways.'

11 Then in my anger I swore they would never enter my place of rest.

Gospel, Luke 11:14-23

14 Jesus was driving out a devil and it was dumb; and it happened that when the devil had gone out the dumb man spoke, and the people were amazed.

15 But some of them said, 'It is through Beelzebul, the prince of devils, that he drives devils out.'

16另一些人試探耶穌,向他要求一個自天而來的徵兆。16 Others asked him, as a test, for a sign from heaven;

17 but, knowing what they were thinking, he said to them, 'Any kingdom which is divided against itself is heading for ruin , and house collapses [kəˋlæps]倒塌,瓦解(健康等)垮掉;衰退;累倒 against house.

18 So, too, with Satan: if he is divided against himself, how can his kingdom last? - since you claim that it is through Beelzebul that I drive devils out.

19 Now if it is through Beelzebul that I drive devils out, through whom do your own sons drive them out? They shall be your judges, then.

20 But if it is through the finger of God that I drive devils out, then the kingdom of God has indeed caught you unawares.

21幾時壯士佩帶武器,看守自己的宅舍,他的財產,必能安全。21 So long as a strong man fully armed guards his own home, his goods are undisturbed [͵ʌndɪˋstɝbd] 未受干擾的,寧靜的;未被碰過的;

22 but when someone stronger than himself attacks and defeats [dɪˋfit] 戰勝,擊敗 him, the stronger man takes away all the weapons he relied on and shares out his spoil [spɔɪl]損壞;糟蹋;搞糟、寵壞.

23 'Anyone who is not with me is against me; and anyone who does not gather in with me throws away.

The Hail Holy Queen

Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy;萬福母后!仁慈的母親;

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Reading 1 JER 7:23-28

Thus says the LORD: This is what I commanded my people:

Listen to my voice;

then I will be your God and you shall be my people.

Walk in all the ways that I command you,

so that you may prosper.

But they obeyed not, nor did they pay heed.

They walked in the hardness of their evil hearts and turned their backs, not their faces, to me.

From the day that your fathers left the land of Egypt even to this day,

I have sent you untiringly all my servants the prophets.

Yet they have not obeyed me nor paid heed;

they have stiffened their necks and done worse than their fathers.

When you speak all these words to them,

they will not listen to you either;

when you call to them, they will not answer you.

Say to them: This is the nation that does not listen to the voice of the LORD, its God,

or take correction.

Faithfulness has disappeared;

the word itself is banished from their speech.

Responsorial Psalm PS 95:1-2, 6-7, 8-9

R. (8) If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

Come, let us sing joyfully to the LORD;

let us acclaim the Rock of our salvation.

Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;

let us joyfully sing psalms to him.

R. If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

Come, let us bow down in worship; let us kneel before the LORD who made us.

For he is our God, and we are the people he shepherds, the flock he guides.

R. If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

Oh, that today you would hear his voice:

"Harden not your hearts as at Meribah, as in the day of Massah in the desert, Where your fathers tempted me; they tested me though they had seen my works."

R. If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

Verse Before The Gospel JL 2:12-13

Even now, says the LORD, return to me with your whole heart, for I am gracious and merciful.

Gospel LK 11:14-23

Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute, and when the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke and the crowds were amazed.

Some of them said, "By the power of Beelzebul, the prince of demons, he drives out demons."

Others, to test him, asked him for a sign from heaven.

But he knew their thoughts and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste and house will fall against house.

And if Satan is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand?

For you say that it is by Beelzebul that I drive out demons.

If I, then, drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your own people drive them out?

Therefore they will be your judges.

But if it is by the finger of God that I drive out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you.

When a strong man fully armed guards his palace, his possessions are safe.

But when one stronger than he attacks and overcomes him, he takes away the armor on which he relied and distributes the spoils.

Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters."
