這次慶生會幫三位壽星大慶特慶, 好酒出爐, 記酒倒是偷懶了點哈, 在這生蠔美味的季節當然免不了要弄些新鮮貨常常, 這次選的是2號的Gillardeau生蠔, 這種生蠔屬於凹型, 大家熟悉的貝隆生蠔則是屬於碟型.

生蠔有些打開了仍然動來動去~新鮮的證明, 對著海水再加上些新鮮檸檬汁, 甜度徹底的發揮出來, 真的頗棒, 不過這批生蠔的蠔肉大小有點參差不齊.

2005 Louis Michel, Chablis
之前喝過很有水準的2004 Chablis 1er Cru, 這支村莊級Chablis也挺不錯, 配著生蠔一起吃的話入口頗搭, 不過到了尾韻會有些太濃重.

1995 Dom Perignon
香檳王95果香四溢且保持了香檳王一貫的絕佳複雜度, 已經頗好喝, 現在甚至比需要陳年的96還要迷人, 搭配生蠔當然是絕配. 香檳王三不五時就出現在電影的宴會裡面, 令人感覺好像很便宜…可是明明也是頗昂貴的東西.

An intensely flavored Champagne, displaying tropical fruit, berry and citrus aromas and flavors enmeshed in finely woven texture, ending with an aftertaste of dried fruit. Good firm structure lends support. Drink now through 2010.

2003 Chateau Smith Havt Lafitte
果香帶點礦石氣息, 酸度適中, 中度酒體與生蠔搭配極佳, 尾韻像在輕撫你的舌頭, 卻又帶點複雜度讓你回味. 不過正如WA所提醒, 這支酒的酸度可能不足以經過長期陳年.

Apple, honey and lemon character. Full-bodied, with ripe fruit and an aftertaste of lemon rind, spice and honey. Needs some time to open. Excellent. Best after 2007.

Sadly, because of space limitations, it was not possible to include tasting notes for this wine. However, readers should be aware that neither 2003 nor 2002 was a great vintage for white wines. Normally these wines can be extremely long-lived, lasting 20-25, sometimes 30+ years. I would be careful about long term aging for the 2003 given its fragile acidity.

頗好喝的酒, 礦石果香搭配桶子香氣, 迷人的杏桃氣息, 酒體適中微偏濃厚, 帶有不錯的尾韻.

Succulent, with a hint of oak masking a mineral element now, yet intense and focused, with honey, apple, lemon and spice flavors. Builds on the palate and improves with air. Fine length. Needs time. Best from 2007 through 2015. (BS)
Stephen Tanzer 92
Very ripe aromas of peach, mirabelle, almond blossom, spices, white pepper and stone. Wonderfully juicy and spicy; ripe but not overly so. A step up in intensity and concentration over the foregoing 2002s, with a captivating peachy character. Finishes very long, spicy and firm.

1998 Domaine Armand Rousseau, Clos de la Roche Grand cru
散發柏根地老酒迷人的皮革與大地氣息, 頗不賴的酒, 不過酒體掉的有些快, 當時覺得可能有受傷, 不過後來看了酒莊對自己家酒的陳年潛力評估, 預估1998 Clos de la Roche有8至9年適飲期, 也差不多就是現在了, 手上有的酒友可以速速享用.

1978 Chateau Mouton Rothschild
五大又一支, 這支也是我的年份, 真是感謝開酒的壽星, 助妳『葫蘆身材; 瘦比竹竿』, 這支酒有點醬油氣息, 搭配一些大地落葉與涼草氣息, 結構尚完好不過感覺的出正走下坡, 單寧已經所剩無幾, 這支酒雖然有點老態但放在杯中三小時都沒有掉下來, 果然是一級好酒.

The 1978 is a vegetal, cedary, coffee, and berry-scented Mouton. It is pleasant, but lacks the concentration and depth expected of a first-growth. The wine is medium-bodied, with a slight greenness to its curranty, earthy flavors, and moderately astringent, bitter tannin in the finish. It is a pleasant wine that is unlikely to develop additional complexity or richness. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted 10/97

1998 Domaine Robert Groffier, Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru
狀態表現都不錯的老酒, 有著動物皮毛與莓果香氣, 迷人的柏跟地, 其他記憶消失.

Beautiful. Exotic with its game, smoke and white truffle character. Seductive from start to finish, this full-bodied wine has so much fruit, supple tannins and rich character, it’s a fall-in-love-with sort. Drink now through 2010.
WA 91
The ruby-colored, wild red berry-scented 1998 Bonnes Mares has a stone, red/black cherry, and brambleberry-flavored personality. It has wonderful breadth and concentration to its firm, masculine, muscular character. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.

1998 Chateau Leoville Las Cases
這支酒, 現在真的是很好喝, 顯現出二級好酒的實力, 大地系香氣為主, 搭配薄荷及些許果香, 香氣柔和稍微甜美, 結構良好且有表現不錯的單寧, 做的非常成功.

The 1998 has turned out to be one of the vintage’s superb Medocs. It boasts an opaque black/purple color as well as a classic Leoville Las Cases display of lead pencil, gorgeously pure black raspberries and cherries, smoke, and graphite. A broad yet focused entry on the palate reveals firm tannin, medium to full body, superb concentration and purity, as well as a totally symmetrical mouthfeel. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2025.

2003 Domaine Pierre Usseglio, Chateauneuf du Pape
甜美漿果一擁而出, 一點熟胡椒加上些枯葉及泥土香氣, 之前喝的幾支酒都是柏根地以及波爾多好酒, 相對一喝就感覺這支酒口感甜美許多, 不過在甜美之下卻還保有相映的節制, 做的挺不錯, 有我喜歡的CdP感覺, 不過隨著年齡增長我發現自己需要的是滄桑而不是甜美.

The outstanding 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape Tradition is a full-bodied, peppery wine that oozes the character of Provence with its notes of lavender, herbes de Provence, and sweet black cherries and raspberries. Some licorice, saddle leather, and salty sea breeze notes also make it into the character of this full-bodied, concentrated wine which is silky enough to be drunk now or cellared for 10-12 years.   I asked the Usseglios what the most abundant years were over the last decade, and was told they were 2000, followed by 1999, 1998, 2001, 2003, and the smallest crop of all, 2004.

Ready to go, with outstanding black cherry and currant fruit harnessed by tar, [i]garrigue[n] and mineral notes. Chunky finish opens to reveal its flesh. Textbook vintage and appellation profile. Drink now through 2015.


2001 M.Chapoutier, Crozes-Ermitage “Les Varonniers”
Chapoutier在北隆的表現沒話說, 這支酒可以感覺到更細緻的質感, 些微的胡椒以及枯葉, 稍減的甜美讓酒更顯滄桑, 結構不錯仍可陳年, 好喝的酒.

The luxury cuvee, and to my taste the finest Crozes-Hermitage produced, is Chapoutier’s 500-case Crozes-Hermitage Les Varonnieres. The 2001 Crozes-Hermitage Les Varonnieres’ inky black/purple color is followed by a dense, roasted herb, melted licorice, black currant, cassis, and tapenade-scented bouquet. Deep, rich, and full-bodied, it reveals more muscle and concentration than its older sibling. It will undoubtedly be less charming in its youth and will need some time to come around. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2019. This uncompromising offering from a young genius is not meant for consumers who want something to drink immediately. It is the essence of bio-dynamically farmed vineyard sites cropped incredibly low, given extended fermentations with indigenous yeasts, and rarely touched until it goes into the bottle unfined and unfiltered. In most vintages, the wine is not even racked off its lees, which only adds to its natural style. This is truly a remarkable wine, but for most readers, patience is the operative rule as it needs a good 8-10 years to strut its stuff. Once moribund, over the last 12 years, this firm has become one of the reference points for nearly all the Rhone Valley appellations since the brash yet immensely talented Michel Chapoutier took over in the late eighties. The single vineyard offerings are as good as Rhone Valley wines can be. Moreover, Chapoutier continues to upgrade the quality of those wines offered in more significant quantities than the 500 or so cases each of the single vineyard offerings.

Gives a blast of ambitious, smoky toast, but it’s well-integated, with rich layers of plum, black currant, tobacco, tar and dark chocolate. Rich, thick finish has enough acidity to allow for the aging that’s needed here. Best from 2005 through 2009.

1999 Cignale, Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT
這支義大利酒有著無情的冷調, 本以為有加Sangiovese, 後來才發現僅用了Cabernet Sauvignon與Merlot, 在一堆香氣奔放的酒後品嚐~顯的似乎不大放的開, 酒體結構很好, 單寧緊致, 平衡度佳是頗不錯的酒, 在深濃的酒體裡展現複雜度, 有如強有力卻不輕易露面的王者.

Very pretty aromas of currant and berry, with hints of toasty oak. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a long finish. Delicious. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Best after 2004.

1998 Fox Creek, Shiraz Reserve, McLaren Vale
非常有錢味的酒, 酒質結構良好且帶有細膩感, 濃郁黑莓香氣, 加上杉木, 些微黑胡椒氣息與大地香氣, 交織起來頗為美妙, 單寧緊致卻不咬口, 沒有太多澳洲酒的化學氣息, 非常好喝的酒.

Nearly perfect, the opaque black/purple-colored 1998 Shiraz Reserve (2,300 cases) plays to the great strength of Australia -- powerful, naturally-textured, super-rich wines that are big and chewy. Exceptionally rich and explosive, with great purity as well as remarkable symmetry and overall balance for such massiveness, this blockbuster can be drunk now or cellared for 12-15 years. Make no doubt about it, this Shiraz will elicit more than a few ’wows’ in any tasting - blind or otherwise.

2003 Chateau Rabaud-Promis, Sauternes
蜂蜜與柑橘香氣為主, 感受的到甜蜜熱情, 酒體厚實肥肥, 可能是年份的關係, 這支酒的甜度稍稍壓過了酸度一些.

It is against my better judgment to taste the sweet wines of Barsac and Sauternes at such an early age, as I find they typically require at least 12 months to reveal the definition/delineation so essential in these creamy, creme brulee, and honeysuckle-flavored offerings. Nevertheless, because this vintage is so highly regarded, I tasted through most of the top estates. The 2003s appear to be somewhat in the style of the 1990s, with high levels of residual sugar (higher than 2001 for the most part) as well as botrytis, low acidity, and fat, full-bodied personalities. This region’s harvest began extremely early (early September), and was completely finished within three weeks. It does not appear that the nobleness and racy richness of the 2001 vintage will be found in the 2003s, but readers who like the big, flamboyant, over the top style of the 1990s will enjoy the 2003s even more than I did. Unlike most of my red wine tastings, this offering was only tasted once. Readers should keep in mind that this a very early, pre-bottling judgment from very unevolved wine that is not nearly as defined and easy to evaluate as the reds.
WS 89-91
Lots of honey and apple character with hints of caramel. Full-bodied, with very good sweetness and a medium finish. Needs a bit more on the midpalate, but very good.
