200810130009Penfolds Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet 2006, South Australia

Looking for something to entertain friends who want to start tasting red wine.  Found this:

Deep ruby with a purple rim.  Apparent legs.  Quite pronounced nose of red and black fruits with a whiff of alcohol.  Dry with surprisingly refreshing acidity.  Sweet cherry, blueberry and hint of spicy oak on the palate with adequate level of ripe smooth tannin.  Medium+ body and a decent finish although the alcohol is quite noticeable.  I'd chill it a bit.

Not bad for a wine which gathered more Parker Points than its price in HKD!  ($89 @ Taste/Gourmet/PnS)
