原名 Barbara Trzetrzelewska 的 Basia於1954年9月30日在波蘭出生. 是少數被歸類為Pop-Jazz的歌手。1987年Basia Trzetrzelewska 以『Time & Tide』個人專輯一鳴驚人。

「Cruising for bruising」這首歌曲是Basia在 1990年【London Warsaw New York】這張專輯當中最知名的代表作！Basia的唱腔、加上異國風味的旋律曲調，營造出一種既爵士卻又不失流行的感覺，使得這首歌曲成為Basia歌唱生涯當中最令人印象深刻的作品之一。Basia的歌曲讓許多來自世界各地的歌迷寫信給她，稱讚她讓人懂得如何去聆聽爵士音樂，也因為有了Basia，才能讓更多流行歌迷，進入爵士音樂的天地。
