Dear Sylvia:
Welcome to the wonderful, wonderful world of PC where there is no nagging parents, demanding teachers, not even the stupid boy sitting next to you.
It is a world at your service where everything is under your control, everything is so friendly and obedient, the mouse, the keyboard, the screen, even the colour of the world. When you feel upset, you can paint the picture bright, to cheer yourself up; when you are high, you can tone down a little, to calm down. When you really hate someone or something, simply press the 'Delete' button and nothing seems to have happened.
Nobody tells you what to do. You are the master. You decide. You decide your own schedule, when to have lunch, when to go to bed; your friendship, whom to talk to; your relationship with parents and teachers, whether to befriend them.
It is 2:00 in the morning. You are still online, msn-ing your best friend.
It is 3.00 am. You are busy trying to beat the invisible, mighty enemy somewhere in this world.
It is 4.00 am. You are tired, but you cannot go to bed, because you are close to beat the enemy.
It is 5.00 am. The sky has turned blue, you are exausted, but you cannot go to bed, your best friend who is visiting England is trying to tell you what the King Cross Station is like.
It is 6.00 am. Grandmom is up and preparing breakfast. You can smell fried egg and toast. You are hungry. You make a big decision by telling your best friend to hold on for a second. You run out of your room, grab a sandwitch and rush back to the PC and continue your chat.
It is 7.00 am. Eeverybody is awake. You feel like going to the bathroom, but dad is using it. When dad is done, your sister slips in. When she is done, your mom walks in. After she has done with her morning make-up session, it is 8.00 and you are about to burst.
You have no time to waste. Run to the bathroom and relieve yourself.
Now you are fresh, you are yourself again. You go back to the PC and continue your chat with a friend in New York who has just finished her assignment and is now ready to 'msn' you.
